Dear Forceans,
I am reaching out to ask for your support and your vote as I seek the honor of serving as President of our Association.
My candidacy is built on a clear vision—A.I.M.S. for Excellence: Stronger Association, Brighter Future—anchored in Advocacy, Independence, Maximization, and Support.
Advocacy:
I am committed to championing the needs of both current students and alumni. By representing alumni interests independently, I will advocate for policies and initiatives that benefit our entire community. I will introduce new initiatives such as the Fountain Entrepreneur Pitch Challenge, where students propose business ideas and win cash prizes at our Annual Conference. I will work to bridge the gap between young alumni and the legends and icons in our association, which will address succession planning and mentorship.
Independence:
Our association must stand strong and autonomous. While we have established independent governance, we must now focus on building our own brand identity and forging strategic partnerships with external organizations, businesses, and community groups. This will expand our influence and resources, ensuring we are financially and socially robust.
Building Financial Autonomy:
I believe in establishing and growing endowment funds for long-term stability, hosting revenue-generating events, and developing transparent financial planning. We should also honor our members through planned giving and bequests, ensuring their legacy strengthens our association for generations to come.
Maximization:
As a 501(c)(3), we must leverage our collective capital. I will prioritize innovative fundraising, grant applications, and corporate sponsorships, which will maximize our ability to remain financially relevant.
Support:
Strengthening our association means increasing communication, organizing impactful community service, and celebrating alumni achievements. I will work to ensure we are true partners with the university, proactively solving issues and moving beyond a transactional relationship.
Gresson The Leader - Decisive | Visionary | Elevating
With decades of experience in community service, higher education, and international organizations, I am prepared to lead decisively and address challenges head-on. I will not tolerate our association being overlooked or undervalued. My vision is bold yet actionable:
Set and achieve annual financial and membership goals (including 750 financial members by 2030)
Secure corporate sponsorships and conference funding
Foster mutually beneficial partnerships with the university
Build a culture of leadership development with a 12-year succession plan.
I am committed to elevating our association with steady, confident, and inspiring leadership. I see the strengths in our members and will position us all to operate at our highest level.
I respectfully ask for your vote and your trust. Together, we can build a stronger association and a brighter future.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Suo Marte,
Dale A.Gresson, Candidate for President
